HON. DR. AGNES ATIM APEA, WOMAN MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT AMOLATAR DISTRICT CALLS FOR CALMNESS FROM HER PEOPLE OF AMOLATAR DISTRICT, PROMISED TO TAKE LEAD WITH OTHER LEADERS OF AMOLATAR TO DERIVE A FINAL SOLUTION TO THE LAND ISSUES IN NAMASALE TOWN COUNCIL

Hon. Dr Agnes Atim Apea, the current woman member of Parliament representing Amolatar District speaks out on the previous demonstration that took place in Namasale town council which is in her constituency where locals were protesting in response to allegations made by Miss Katushabe Juliet, an administrator of an estate believed to belong to the late Kawaki Nafutali, a former resident of Bungu cell in Namasale Town Council, Amolatar District.

In her comments today on this matter, Hon. Dr. Agnes Apea said, her people of Amolatar should prefer calmness at this material time as she and other leaders in Amolatar District take lead in finding the affirmative solution to this bad gesture, Dr. Apea further said there is nothing without an answer and as such, there will be a way out at an appropriate time as she will follow it up to curve this challenges down and Namasale Town council will be peaceful again forever, Dr.Apea urged her people of Namasale Town council and Amolatar as large to remain calm and she advises the people of Namasale to  resume their usual economic activities normally!

Last week, Miss Katushabe claimed ownership of the land, equivalent to 100 acres which was allegedly occupied by Mr. Okello Moses from Bungu cell.

The disputed land has remained vacant since the tribal conflict in 1979. Through her legal representation, Eyotr & Co. Advocates located on Makerere Hill Road, Mirembe House 3rd floor, she wrote to the chairperson of Bungu cell, requesting a meeting with the community members who have occupied the land to engage in a dialogue today July 17, 2023.

However, this proposal did not sit well with the local residents of Amolatar District, leading them to organize an unlawful protest while awaiting the arrival of Miss Katushabe Juliet and her lawyer.

The complainant and her lawyer were warned against visiting the site and were advised to pursue legal recourse through the appropriate courts of law.
