RDC Okello Odoki Rwot Lonyo Unites Amolatar District NRM

AMOLATAR, 31/05/2024:  RDC Okello Francis Odoki Rwot Lonyo organized a meeting with NRM party leaders from village to district levels to promote unity and clarify party duties. Lira City MP Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero Supports Lango Pilgrims

May 29, 2024, Lira City MP and Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Aceng Ocero, provided support to the pilgrims from Lango Diocese. Represented by her political assistants Zena Opolot and Moto Ronald Tobby, along with her personal assistant, she delivered various food items and drinks to the Catholic pilgrims at their stopover in Kasana Luweero Diocese. This followed an earlier provision of medical supplies and first aid as they departed from Lira City. The pilgrims expressed their gratitude to Dr. Aceng for her selfless leadership and care, extending her support beyond her constituents to all Lango pilgrims.  The Lango pilgrimage includes over 1,000 Christians from the districts of Lira, Apac, Oyam, Kole, Alebtong, Otuke, and others. Dr. Aceng has similarly supported Protestant pilgrims currently at Matugga Church of Uganda.

Two notable individuals have been apprehended for misappropriation of PDM funds in Amolatar. During a meeting on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) in Amolatar, the district leadership recommended the immediate arrest of those responsible for mishandling the PDM fund. RDC Amolatar, Francis Okello Odoki Rwotlonyo, disclosed that an audit revealed certain SACCO leaders had allocated amounts ranging from five to fifteen million shillings to themselves, with some funds even going to unregistered members. The RDC emphasized the intention to apprehend individuals who had illicitly received money under the guise of distributing PDM funds, including parish chiefs and SACCO chairpersons. "I will arrest individuals who have been extorting money from beneficiaries in the name of providing them with PDM funds," stated the RDC. Kampala Metropolitan Police Apprehends Third Suspect in Aggravated Robbery Case

The Central Police Station in Kampala has apprehended another suspect in connection to the aggravated robbery of 40-year-old Mr. Mugisha Tomson, an incident caught on CCTV. Mugisa Derrick, also known as Musota, was arrested today near Nakivubo Channel in the city center. Mugisa is alleged to have delivered the kick that incapacitated Mr. Tomson and continued to assault him until he was unconscious. Mugisa has confessed to both the assault and the robbery. Mugisa joins two other suspects already in custody: Senyonjo Peter, also known as Kakima, and Nuur Lweyama, also known as Mu TZ (Tanzania). The three have admitted to acting under the direction of another individual, for whom police efforts are intensifying to apprehend. The suspects will be processed and presented in court once investigations are complete.
