George Abdul Omongi Transferred to Otuke as New Resident District Commissioner

In the latest reshuffle of Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), George Abdul Omongi, who had recently been transferred from Apac to Amuru, has once again been reassigned. According to a transfer letter issued by Yunus Kakande, Secretary in the Office of the President, Omongi will now serve as the RDC for Otuke District.

This transfer follows Omongi’s short stint in Amuru, where he had been posted to replace the outgoing RDC. He now takes over from John Robert Adyama Ekaju, who had been serving as the RDC for Otuke. The reason for the frequent movement of Omongi was not clarified, but such transfers are not uncommon in the office of RDCs as part of efforts to enhance governance and public service delivery in various regions.

The reshuffle, signed by Secretary Kakande, reflects the government’s commitment to placing trusted and experienced leaders in districts to ensure effective oversight of government programs and security matters.

George Abdul Omongi brings with him experience from his previous assignments in Apac and Amuru, and his leadership in Otuke is expected to bring positive changes. Meanwhile, the district bids farewell to John Robert Adyama Ekaju, who served during critical times of development in Otuke.

Omongi's new posting is effective immediately, and he is expected to begin his duties in Otuke in the coming days. This move is part of ongoing efforts by the Office of the President to strengthen district-level administration across the

 country.
