Lira City MP Hon. Dr. Jane Aceng Donates 72 Bags of Cement for Bishop Tarantino College Ngetta Rehabilitation

 

Lira City – In a continued demonstration of her commitment to education and development, Lira City Member of Parliament and Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, has donated 72 bags of cement to support the rehabilitation of Bishop Tarantino College in Ngetta. The contribution, valued at approximately UGX 2.5 million, is aimed at enhancing the educational infrastructure in the region, aligning with Dr. Aceng's broader vision of uplifting education standards in Lango and Lira City.

At the handover ceremony, Mrs. Emma Okite, representing Dr. Aceng, delivered a message of unity, hope, and development to the Catholic community and other attendees. In her remarks, Mrs. Okite emphasized the importance of avoiding divisions along religious lines, as some political contenders might attempt. “I bring you a message of unity, hope, and blessings from Minister Dr. Jane Aceng Ocero. She told me to encourage you not to be drawn into religious fights being incited by some contenders. Remain faithful and united,” Okite said, as she handed over the cement.

The event, which took place during a community fundraising ceremony, was attended by senior leaders from the Catholic Church, alongside political and cultural figures from the region. The leaders expressed their gratitude for Dr. Aceng's ongoing support and pledged their commitment to her re-election in 2026, recognizing her continued dedication to service delivery and fulfillment of campaign promises.

Dr. Aceng’s generous donation reinforces her dedication to uplifting the standards of education in Lira City, further solidifying her role as a leader who prioritizes the welfare and development of her constituency. The rehabilitation of Bishop Tarantino College will greatly benefit the students and the community, as quality education plays a vital role in fostering progress and unity within the region.
