  By: @SmartAmbroseUg (0772572261) Amolatar Northern Uganda Clan members of Alwa B village in Alwa sub-county, Kaberamaido district have set fire to all the houses of a man only identified as Eddu. The clan members accused Mr. Eddu of practicing witchcraft and bewitching people in the village. This accusation came after the LC 1 Chairperson of Alwa B village Mr. Ogol Joseph fell sick about two weeks ago and he is still seriously ill. Eddu was last week beaten by The son of the LC 1 Chairperson of Alwa B village only identified as OPIGE CHARLES and left with serious injuries later he was rushed to Kaberamaido Hospital for treatment. However, the clan members this morning woke up with a lot of hunger and took Mr. Eddu to the LC 3 Chairperson of Alwa sub-county who advised them not to take Law by their hands but later they went ahead and set fire to all his houses this evening and even wanted to end his life. By this time Eddu had taken off in order to save his Life from the angry mob

Mariam Mukankubito has already been identified by authorities. According to Wamala Regional Police spokesperson Rachel Kawala, “On Thursday, Mukankubito spent a night indulging in alcoholic beverages with other family members at her own expense. At around 3:56 a.m. (Friday), while still inside the house with others, she locked the door with padlocks, doused herself in gasoline, and set herself on fire. The fire spread throughout the entire house, killing six people and injuring five others.  Pamela Namubiru, aged 7, and Patrick Kisakye, aged 2, were also killed in the event in Musalaba Village in Masode-Kalagi Town Council. The deceased have been identified as Denis Kimeze, 26, and Livingstone Kayimukiro, 53, both residents of Namulanda village, Nkondo Sub County in Buyende District. The Busoga North Regional police Spokesperson, ASP Micheal Kasadha, said preliminary investigations suggest that the duo failed to swim after a storm over powered them at Kasongoire landing site. “They went to catch fish at Kasongoire landing site together with their colleague, identified as Ronald Samanya. While there, a storm allegedly overpowered their canoe, forcing it to capsize, and they drowned,” Assistant Superintendent of Police Kasadha said.
