Paramount Chief of Lango Joins International Royals in Courtesy Call on President Museveni

Entebbee, Uganda: The Paramount Chief of Lango, Won Nyaci Elect Engineer Dr. Michael Odongo Okune, today participated in a significant courtesy call with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House, Entebbe. This meeting brought together a distinguished assembly of local and international royalty, underscoring the global and regional importance of the event.

Among the attendees were local dignitaries, including His Highness Jude Mudoma of Bugisu and His Highness Paul Sande Emolor of Teso. The foreign delegation featured prominent figures such as King Baridam of Ogoni Land, Nigeria; King Nabongo Peter Mumias II of the Wanga Kingdom, Kenya; and King Sangli Kponvi Koami of Ghana.

The purpose of the gathering was to discuss and garner support for the upcoming coronation of Won Nyaci Elect Engineer Dr. Michael Odongo Okune, scheduled for November 2, 2024. Chief Okune expressed his gratitude for President Museveni’s commitment to supporting the coronation, which he believes will be a momentous occasion for the Lango people and a symbol of unity among the diverse cultures represented.

The meeting highlighted the strong ties between Uganda and its neighboring regions, reflecting a shared interest in preserving cultural heritage and fostering international cooperation. The President’s support is seen as a crucial element in the successful execution of the coronation and the celebration of the rich traditions of the Lango community.
