RDC's Office Leads Patriotism Training at Orum and Adwari Secondary Schools
OTUKE DISTRICT: Earlier, the office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), led by Mr. John Robert Adyamu Ekaju, along with ARDC's Opio Isaac Ope and Mitala Umar, joined District Education Officer Madam Acheng Lucy to inaugurate patriotism training sessions at Orum and Adwari Secondary Schools.
During the sessions, the team briefed students on Uganda's history and the challenges it faced before the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government came into power. They highlighted the NRM's achievements since 1986, particularly in the education sector. Students were encouraged to embrace patriotism, engage in government skilling projects aimed at improving youth socio-economic transformation, and understand Uganda's Vision 2040.
The team urged students to remain loyal to Uganda, foster love for themselves and their families, avoid cultural and tribal differences, and prioritize national unity. They also encouraged students to take up skill-based activities, such as shoemaking and school chalk production, already being practiced in Akwang Sub-county, to generate income, combat poverty, and improve household earnings in the current climate of peace, security, and stability.
Attendees were reminded to participate in the upcoming 5th July celebration at Kololo and were encouraged to ensure they have National Identity Cards. Those whose cards are expiring were urged to partake in the ongoing mass renewal exercise at their respective National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) offices. This initiative aims to enable active participation in the 2026 elections and continued support for the NRM government under the leadership of H.E. Gen. Y.K. Museveni.
